Helpful guide if there is an issue and you dont know who to turn to

If you are on holiday and not sure who to contact if there is an issue, or live in Javea but find yourself in a situation and not sure what to do, then it is worth reading this helpful guide compiled by VillaMia.

Some of the main problems we often hear are:

Noisy holidaymakers or neighbours

There is nothing worse than trying to sleep but finding it impossible with inconsiderate noisy neighbours or a party. Firstly, if you know where it is coming from, it is worth just knocking on the door and asking them to keep the noise down. Some people just may not realise how the sound travels. Or, if it can wait, pop a note under their door asking them to be more aware in future. If you still have no luck and it continues, or someone is purposely making noise to annoy you, then contact thelocal police in Javea 96 579 0081. Also reportitto your agent, landlord or administration company if in a complex.

No water or electricity

Sometimes in Javea the utility companies will do work in the area and cut off the water or electricity supply without warning. If electricity, firstly check your fuse box and see nothing has tripped the switch. If it is not this, look at close by neighbours to see if they have electricity. If you are the only one, it may have been cut off due to non payment of an old bill. You can contactIberdrola 24 hours a day on901202020. Ideally, they will need the contract reference number or at least the owner’s name and full address. If you have no water, go to the water meter, usually found on an external wall or outside a property and if find a yellow tag on it then you have been cut off due to non payment. If it is the whole area it will usually come back on within a few hours.  If you are in a complex again, check with neighbours and if you rented via an agent contact them as you may not be able to access the meter. You can contact Amjasa on 965 79 01 62.
